In 2011 I was commissioned to produce a large collage mural for The Ubiquitous Chip restaurant in Glasgow, as part of their 40th anniversary celebrations, and to form a modern counterpoint to the existing murals painted in the 1970s by the celebrated artist and novelist Alasdair Gray. Where Alasdair's murals depicted the Chip staff, mine were to depict customers in a landscape which contained many references to local history and culture. It's still there if you want to go and have a look - 12 Ashton Ln, Glasgow. Thanks to Colin & Carol for the commission, Calum for putting my name forward, and all the Chip staff for feeding and putting up with me during the lengthy process.
